Workshop Structure

The Core Skills program consists of four two-day sessions held approximately one month apart. Participants must register for the full series, as each session builds on the previous one.

Each session focuses on different steps of the EFT process, including the EFT Tango, providing a structured journey from intake to treatment completion.

Participant Requirements

To ensure a collaborative and informed learning environment, participants must:

✅ Have completed an EFT Externship before enrolling.
✅ Declare their professional designation and confirm they are actively working with couples or partners in therapy.
✅ Present a brief case summary and share a 10-minute audio/video clip of a therapy session for peer discussion and guided consultation.
✅ Complete a video release form, available here: TRIEFT Video Release & Sample Presentation.

This is not an evaluation of your EFT skills but a supportive space for learning, reflection, and discussion of EFT concepts in practice.

Cancellation Policy: A $50 flat administration Fee will be charged for all refunds for Externship and/or Advanced Core Skills.


Refunds of course fees (minus the $50 administrative fee) will be issued for requests made up to 14 days prior to the start date. Cancellations within 8-13 days of the start date of the event will be offered a 50% refund (minus a 50.00 administrative fee). No refunds will be offered within 7 days of the start date of the event.


Trainer

Jim Furrow

James Furrow, Ph.D., is leader and contributor to the practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) with couples and families. Together with EFT originator, Dr. Susan Johnson, Jim co-authored Emotionally Focused Family Therapy; Becoming an EFT Therapist: The Workbook and The EFT Casebook. He is also co-authored Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy for Dummies, a practical resource for couples and therapists seeking an everyday understanding of EFT principles and practices. Formerly Jim served as the Evelyn and Frank Freed Professor of Marital and Family Therapy at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, where he trained psychologists and marital and family and conducted research on adolescent risk and resilience. He is a clinical fellow and an approved supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a member of the National Council on Family Relations, and a Certified Family Life Educator. He co-founded the Los Angeles Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy, where he served as Executive Director before relocating to the Seattle area. Jim is an ICEEFT certified EFT therapist, supervisor, and trainer.
